Blow-outs

     It's fall, the leaves are changing, the nights are getting colder and soon your irrigation will need to be blown-out. Every year your irrigation needs to have the water blown out of the lines to prevent freeze damage. When water is left in the pipes it freezes and expands. This can cause broken pipes, cracked heads, damaged master valves and even break the copper pipe all the way back into your house.      Here are a few things to keep in mind when getting your system blown-out:

• It takes a few days and nights of consistent freezing temperatures to freeze your piping/system. Don't panic with the occasional 20 degree night. It's a good idea to schedule your blowout early as we never know what mother nature has in store for us after September.
• Simply, call the office to schedule a time.
• A blow-out may be done even when your not at home. In some instances, if the water supply to the irrigation is shut off and we are able to get to the controller, we can do the blow out while you are away.
